Robbi Young, DPM, C-PED

Dr. Robbi Young is a board-certified podiatrist and podiatric surgeon with a passion for making sure her patients can walk comfortably. “I’m a hiker and a biker, so I really understand how important your feet and ankles are to your health and well-being,” she says. Early on, Dr. Young wanted to become a physical therapist, but she quickly realized that becoming a podiatrist would allow her to really focus on keeping people walking. For more than 14 years, she has stayed at the forefront of podiatric medicine and providing surgical and non-surgical treatment for all kinds of conditions of the feet and ankles.

“I’m a surgeon, but I don’t usually recommend surgery as a first option,” Dr. Young says. She evaluates each patient, listens carefully to their needs and preferences, and creates an individualized treatment plan to alleviate pain, treat the cause, and prevent future podiatric problems. Non-surgical options can include orthotics, physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and injections. If patients need surgery, Dr. Young is highly skilled in using the latest surgical techniques to ensure excellent outcomes with minimal recovery time.

Dr. Young moved to Grand Haven in 2007 and bought the practice from beloved local podiatrist Dr. Jack Meyer. She says that he left her with “big shoes to fill,” but Dr. Young and her staff strive to live up to the name by treating every patient with the care and respect they would want for their own families. As the only locally owned, full-time podiatry practice in Grand Haven, Dr. Young and her staff believe in being active members of their community and serving their neighbors with respect and dignity.

I’m interested in keeping people walking, because I understand that walking means they can be more independent, healthy, and happy.

Personal Interests

Patients often spot Dr. Young riding one of her many bicycles around town and along the shore of Lake Michigan. She is an avid hiker and biker—any activity that will take her outdoors so she can enjoy Michigan's beautiful forests, lakes, and rivers. She is an active member of the Grand Haven community and volunteers locally for Habitat for Humanity, Love Incorporated, and Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s.

Education and Experience

After graduating from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, with a degree in biology, Dr. Young attended the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. She received her DPM with honors in 2002, and she was selected for a rigorous three-year residency program in podiatric surgery at the Genesys Regional Medical Center in central Michigan. Dr. Young is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association.
